Somerset mother and two children rescued from fire

A mother and her two children have been rescued from their burning home in Taunton, Somerset.

Firefighters called to Charles Crescent on Sunday night found the three trapped and sheltering in an upstairs flat with the hallway on fire.

One child was rescued from a first floor window by crews using a ladder while the woman and second child were led to safety through the front door.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. A man has been arrested.
