Wells armed siege man admits firearms charge

A 47-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a firearms-related charge following an armed siege in Wells.

Robert Martin Kenney, from High Street, Wells, pleaded guilty to the possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.

He appeared before Taunton Crown Court on Thursday following the incident which saw the High Street sealed off for several hours last October.

A date for sentencing has yet to be set and Kenney was released on bail.
