No charges in Somerton Town Council fraud investigation

Four men arrested as part of investigations into the finances of a Somerset council have been released without charge.

Officers said that a thorough investigation into allegations of fraud at Somerton Town Council showed no evidence a crime had been committed.

The men, all aged in their 60s, were arrested last December by Avon and Somerset Police's economic crime unit.

They had all been released on bail while an inquiry took place.
