New poll cards for May elections in Mendip after error

New polling cards are being sent to voters in the local elections and Alternative Vote referendum in part of Somerset after a mistake was found.

The error on the back of the cards issued by Mendip District Council relates to postal voting.

A council spokesman said the "unfortunate error" meant new cards would have to be sent out.

"There will be no additional cost to the taxpayer for the reprinting and distributing of poll cards," he said.
