Somerset bin lorries have batteries and diesel stolen

  • Published

Seven Somerset bin lorries had their batteries and diesel stolen overnight on Tuesday.

The lorries were due to pick up rubbish in Porlock and the surrounding areas on Wednesday, Somerset Waste Partnership said.

A spokesman said anyone expecting their rubbish to be collected will have it picked up later than usual because the batteries had to be replaced.

Avon and Somerset police are investigating the theft.
