A Somerset scout leader arrested in connection with child sex abuse allegations has been charged.

David Burland, 53, of the 1st Burnham-on-Sea Scout Group, has been bailed to appear before Taunton Deane magistrates on 5 May.

He has been charged with 12 indecent assaults, 14 sexual assaults, four counts of gross indecency and six counts of inciting sexual activity.

The charges relate to alleged abuse of children under the age of 16.
