Arrests after man stamped on in Yeovil

Three men have been arrested and bailed after a man in Yeovil was left with serious head injuries.

The men, aged 27, 25 and 22, were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

The victim is understood to have been beaten to the ground and stamped on at 2300 BST on Sunday in Glovers Walk.

He sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Yeovil District Hospital before being transferred to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol.

The three men have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

An Avon and Somerset force spokesman appealed for witnesses.
