Somerset to get almost £160k to guard against flooding

Somerset is to get almost £160,000 to help guard against flooding, it has been announced.

The money, from the European Regional Development Fund, will help the county council raise awareness of the dangers.

The scheme aims to help communities in at risk areas to be more prepared for flooding and reduce the risks.

Councillor David Hall said: "We look forward to working with our European partners to develop new and improved information about flooding."

The project is also taking place in France, England, Belgium and The Netherlands.
