Frome burglary: Man stabbed in back and chest

A man has been stabbed during a burglary at a property in Somerset.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the assailant went into the building in Castle Street, Frome, at about 2230 BST on Thursday.

He threatened a male occupant and, during a struggle, the victim was stabbed in the back and chest.

The burglar, described as 5ft 6in tall, slim and in his late teens, then ran off. The victim's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The man was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

The force is appealing for witnesses.
