Delegates from China, Russia and Europe have visited Somerset as part of an effort to encourage more international tourists to visit the county.

The visitors were met in London by the Wookey Hole Witch at the start of a two-day tour of the region organised by the Somerset Tourism Association (STA).

The new train and coach tour has been developed by the tourist association working with transport operator First.

The tour includes Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury Abbey.

John Turner, a director at the association, said: "The Somerset Explore tour highlights the very best that we have to offer the international visitor."
