Police are appealing for help to find three medals of "great sentimental value" stolen from a house in Somerset.

The medals, a Fire Brigade long service medal, a Scout Medal of Merit and a Silver Acorn Scout Medal, were taken from a home in Stoke St Mary, near Taunton, overnight on 11 August.

A gold six-stone channel-set eternity ring and a gold and diamond trilogy-type engagement ring were also taken.

Police said the 68-year-old owner has appealed for the return of the items.

Two of the medals are engraved with the name Colin Clarke and one with the names Clark and Govett.

Anyone who is offered the items is asked to contact the force.
