Former Somerset scout leader to face sex abuse trial

A former scout leader is to face trial accused of committing a string of sex offences against children.

David Burland, 53, from Ramsay Way in Burnham-On-Sea, Somerset, appeared at Taunton Crown Court on Monday.

He denied 33 charges including indecent assault, sexual activity with a child, indecency and exposure.

He was released on conditional bail ahead of a pre-trial hearing in two months' time.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 1987 and 2010.
