Burnham explosives suspect Philip Leonard in court

A 36-year-old man accused of making explosives has appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court.

Philip Leonard, from Burnham-on-Sea, faces four charges of making explosive substances for unlawful purposes.

It is alleged these activities took place between 31 December 2011 and 21 January 2012.

Mr Leonard was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Taunton Crown Court on 6 February.
