Thousands of people are expected in to attend the annual Catholic pilgrimage of the Clifton Diocese in Somerset.

The event, at Glastonbury Abbey, is due to include a procession along the town's High Street.

The pilgrimage mass will take place in the ruined abbey church and will be led by Bishop Declan Lang.

The diocese holds its pilgrimage in Glastonbury due to its association with the "spiritual life of people in the West of England".

As well as being open as a visitor attraction, the ruins are now a grade I listed building and a scheduled ancient monument.
