Dog hanging was 'deliberate act', say Somerset police

A dog that was found hanged in Somerset was "killed deliberately in a cruel act", police believe.

The lurcher was found by a group of horse riders on Sunday afternoon at a property on Stonage Lane, Haselbury Plucknett.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the RSPCA had been informed of the incident.

Insp Jackie Gold said: "The death of an animal is always upsetting when it may have been done intentionally."
