Burnham-on-Sea residents return home after outbuilding fire

Residents who had to leave their houses after a large fire broke out have returned home.

Ten homes were evacuated on Quantock Close, in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, as fire crews tackled the fire, which started in an outbuilding before spreading to two terraced houses.

An electrical fault is believed to have started the fire shortly after 00:30 BST on Monday.

An elderly woman was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Four fire engines from the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene.

It took firefighters almost six hours to bring the fire under control.
