Arrests follow scrapyard raids in Bristol and Somerset

Fifteen people have been arrested in raids on five scrap metal dealers in the Bristol and Somerset area.

Avon and Somerset Police said the arrests were mainly in connection with allegations of handling stolen goods.

More than 60 officers were joined by representatives from utility companies for the operation earlier.

Undercover officers had spent several months gathering evidence prior to the raids operation, a police spokeswoman said.
