Bruton hit-and-run: Man released over fatal collision

A man who was arrested in connection with the death of an elderly man who died in a hit-and-run crash has been released without charge.

The man, aged in his 40s, was detained after David Hick died, more than a week after he was found with head injuries in Cole Road, Bruton, Somerset.

Police are trying to trace a black Chrysler Grand Voyager.

Anyone with information about the vehicle - registration number DS02 NHY - should contact Yeovil CID.

A woman who was also arrested was also released earlier this week.

Mr Hick, a retired engineer, was walking to a local shop with his two dogs when he was struck by the car.
