Man charged over Bridgwater attack on mother and child

A man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault in Somerset in which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint.

The pair were held at their home in Sydenham, Bridgwater, on 21 January.

Mark Lester, 59, of Riverside Close, Bridgwater, has been charged with two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted robbery.

He has been remanded to appear at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Friday.
