Schoolboys arrested after Worle school knife attack bailed

Two schoolboys arrested in connection with a knife attack on another pupil at a school in Somerset have been released on police bail.

A 15-year-old boy suffered a "slash injury" during an argument at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare on Monday afternoon, police said.

He was treated by paramedics at the school and taken to hospital, but was discharged shortly after.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy have been bailed until May.

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and ABH and the 16-year-old for perverting the course of justice, possession of a bladed article and assisting an offender.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said inquiries are continuing and police are liaising closely with the school.
