A man is in hospital after he was attacked by a gang in Rotherham who punched him to the ground and set a dog on him.
The 39-year-old had confronted three men on Kilnhurst business park on Glass House Lane on Thursday night.
Police said one of the attackers jumped from the top of an electrical sub station and punched him to the ground.
The gang then encouraged a dog, believed to be a Staffordshire or pitbull terrier type, to attack him.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the man suffered a broken jaw and bite marks to his arm.
He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary and was due to have surgery.
The gang and the dog fled in the direction of Rawmarsh.
Police said the attackers and the dog would have been covered in blood and have appealed for witnesses.
Two of the men are described as being in their late teens to early 20s with the third believed to be aged between 16 and 18.
