Fire damages furniture warehouse in Rotherham

A fire has severely damaged a large warehouse used for storing flat pack furniture in South Yorkshire.

Crews were called to the blaze on Monday evening at Don Street in the Westgate area of Rotherham and found the building well alight.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it was still not known what caused the blaze.

Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed due to the large amount of smoke.

The fire service said the blaze had caused significant damage to the building.
