Three South Yorkshire MPs have been appointed in Labour leader Ed Milliband's new shadow cabinet.

Wentworth's John Healey is shadow health secretary, while Don Valley MP Caroline Flint takes on the brief for communities.

Rosie Winterton, MP for Doncaster Central, is Labour's new chief whip.

Mr Healey said he was looking forward to his new role, adding: "The British public are proud of the NHS, and it's always been at Labour's heart."
