Fifth arrest over death of 17-year-old Rotherham mother

Police investigating the death of a teenage mother whose body was found in a Rotherham canal have made a fifth arrest.

The body of Laura Mary Wilson, who had a four-month-old daughter, was pulled from the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Canal on 12 October.

South Yorkshire Police said a 17-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Four other people who were arrested have been released on bail.

Miss Wilson was last seen on 9 October. Police said a post-mortem examination found she had died from stab injuries.
