Sheffield attack victim Thomas Gower dies in hospital

A murder investigation has started after a man who was attacked outside a bar in Sheffield died in hospital.
Thomas Gower, 26, of Morland Close, Gleadless Valley in Sheffield, was assaulted outside Alibi bar on 18 December, South Yorkshire Police said.
He died on Sunday at the city's Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Post-mortem tests were being carried out on Monday.
A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident remains on police bail pending further inquiries.
Police are still urging anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them.
