Deeq Ali murder case: Sheffield man remanded in custody

A man has been remanded in custody over the murder of a Somalian teenager who was shot at a community centre in South Yorkshire.

Deeq Ali, 18, died in hospital after the shooting at a function room on Spital Hill, Sheffield, in the early hours of Sunday.

Abdi Mohammed Omar, 24, of Lopham Street, Burngreave, appeared before Sheffield magistrates on Wednesday.

He was remanded to appear at the city's crown court on 9 November.
