Man dies in South Yorkshire motorcycle crash

A 53-year-old motorcyclist has died after a traffic collision near Maltby, South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police said the incident happened on Saturday evening near the Scotch Spring Lane junction on the A631.

Police said the motorcyclist hit a car travelling in the opposite direction after overtaking another vehicle.

The collision caused the rider to come off his bike, landing on the roof of a car travelling towards Maltby.

The motorcyclist, a local man, died after sustaining multiple injuries.

Nobody else was injured in the incident.

The incident is the second fatality in South Yorkshire involving a motorbike over the weekend.
