Woman arrested over pedestrian death in Sheffield

A motorist has been arrested in connection with the death of a pedestrian in Sheffield.

A 53-year-old woman was on Tyler Street when she was hit by a Toyota Yaris and thrown from the pavement onto the banking beside a railway.

A 49-year-old woman from Sheffield has been been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened at about 07:10 BST.
