Extra officers police Barnsley v Leeds United match

Extra police officers were drafted in to maintain order during a football derby match in South Yorkshire.

The game, at Barnsley's Oakwell stadium, saw the home side take on West Yorkshire neighbours, Leeds.

South Yorkshire Police said it had brought in 200 officers from across the county and 50 had been brought in from West Yorkshire.

Ch Supt Andy Brooke said it was a vital fixture for both clubs and he wanted to ensure safety in the town.
