Rotherham police officer Lee Lucas appears in court

A police officer has appeared in court charged with misconduct in public office.

Rotherham PC Lee Lucas, 38, was suspended after an internal investigation by South Yorkshire Police and the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The force said the charge related to "contact with members of the public".

Mr Lucas was bailed by magistrates in Leeds and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on 8 July.
