Appeal made over Staffordshire flood locations

An appeal has been made for people in Staffordshire to say where flooding trouble spots are located in the county.

The move has been prompted by the River Trent overflowing in 2007, the county council said.

It has asked members of the public to supply information to their local parish council.

Mike Maryon, from the county council, said: "We know the big stuff. We want to know the local stuff."

He added: "We really need to understand where local flooding issues are, and the people who know that of course are the people on the ground who live it day to day when those flash floods [happen] or rivers rise."
