Two bailed over fatal shooting in Chasetown

Two people arrested over the death of a man found shot at his Staffordshire home have been released on police bail.

Richard Deakin, 27, from Meadway Street, Chasetown, was shot in the chest on 5 July.

Police arrested two men, aged 22 and 23, from Bilston, West Midlands, on Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said they have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.

Neighbourhood officers have maintained high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to residents, police said.
