Police investigating the disappearance of a Polish woman have finished searching the house where she lived.

The last positive sighting of Sylwia Ciapcinska, 24, of Ash Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, was on 20 July in the town centre.

The Staffordshire force said it was determined to find Ms Ciapcinska, who is believed to have been killed.

Tomasz Sobczak, 29, of Ash Street, Burton, has been charged with murder and is due in court on 8 October.

Detectives and forensic experts have spent almost two weeks searching the house.

Several items have been taken away for further examination, police said.

Ms Ciapcinska arrived in the UK on 2 July and had planned to stay for about a year to earn money to help her buy a home in Poland.

Police said she worked at a distribution company called Amethyst Logistics based at Fradley Park, near Lichfield.
