Staffordshire life-saving group raises £22,000
Volunteers in a village who are trained in life-saving techniques have been given a new 4x4 vehicle after raising £22,000.
Madeley & District Community First Response Group in Staffordshire said it had been "astounded" by the support.
It said the vehicle would enable volunteers to respond more effectively to incidents in remote rural areas and during wintry conditions.
On Saturday the vehicle was given to the group, which has 11 members.
The group said such schemes where people attended to life-threatening emergencies on behalf of the ambulance service, prior to the arrival of ambulance personnel, were vital to rural communities.
