Up to 1,000 cannabis plants found in Lichfield

Up to 1,000 cannabis plants have been found in an industrial unit in Staffordshire.

Police were called to the site, in Europe Way, Britannia Enterprise Park, Lichfield, at lunchtime on Tuesday.

They were alerted by staff who had been checking the empty building on behalf of the owner, a Staffordshire Police spokesman said.

The premises were otherwise empty and there have not been any arrests. Police are removing the plants.
