Appeal in Stoke-on-Trent follows possible assault

Police are asking anyone who saw a woman in distress to contact them after a possible assault.

An incident happened in the Trinity Street, Etruria Road area of Hanley early on Saturday.

A woman who may have been assaulted tried to flag down motorists and possibly spoke to passers-by on a road outside Sainsbury's, police believe.

Anyone who saw a woman in distress between 0500 and 0700 BST has been asked to contact Stoke-on-Trent CID.
