A woman who stabbed her boyfriend in the neck unlawfully killed him, a jury has found.

Nicola Coleman, of Burwaye Close, Lichfield, was declared unfit to stand trial over the death of Mark Cannon, aged 44.

He died from a stab wound shortly after being taken to hospital on 29 September, 2008.

A trial of fact found that Coleman committed the act. A judge will rule later on what should happen to her.

Speaking after the case Det Sgt Nick Powell said: "Mr Cannon suffered multiple stab wounds at the hands of Nicola Coleman, who, due to her medical condition, was unable to undergo a full trial at court."

Coleman was aged 35 at the time of the incident.
