Woman who stabbed boyfriend detained in hospital

Published

A woman who stabbed her boyfriend in the neck will be detained in hospital indefinitely under the mental health act, a judge has ruled.

Nicola Coleman, 37, of Burwaye Close, Lichfield, was declared unfit to stand trial over the death of Mark Cannon, aged 44.

A jury at Stafford Crown Court found on Tuesday that she unlawfully killed him.

Mr Cannon died from a stab wound shortly after being taken to hospital on 29 September, 2008.

A trial of fact found that Coleman committed the act.
