Police believe the people who murdered a father-of-two at his Staffordshire home may be from the Black Country.

Richard Deakin, 27, died after he was shot in the chest at his house in Meadway Street, Chasetown, on 5 July.

Det Ch Insp Dave Garrett said: "We have several active lines of inquiry which suggest Richard's killers could be from the Wolverhampton, Tipton and Coseley area."

Two men have been arrested and released on bail as part of the inquiry.

Det Ch Insp Garrett, who is leading the investigation, said officers believed there were Black Country links to Mr Deakin's murder but were not ruling out other areas.

"Those responsible for Richard's ruthless murder need to be caught and taken off the streets.

"Our officers will treat all calls sensitively and in the strictest confidence," he added.
