Police are looking for witnesses after a woman fell and died from a head injury in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

A police spokesman said it appeared Lilian Oram, 83, had got out of a taxi and was walking next to it, using it for support, when she fell.

She had just been taken to Charles Street, Hanley, from her home in Bucknall on the morning of 16 February, when it happened.

A man has been arrested over the matter and released on bail.
