Pedestrian, 87, injured in Abbey Hulton crash

An 87-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent.
The incident happened in Leek Road, Abbey Hulton, at about 09:45 BST.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said crews arrived to find the woman lying on the floor with a head wound.
She said the woman was also suffering from pain in her hip and upper leg and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital North Staffordshire.
The spokeswoman added no-one else was injured in the crash.
