Three arrested in Staffordshire over Gumtree fraud
Three men from Staffordshire have been arrested over online fraud on the classified advertising site Gumtree.
The men were arrested over a fraud conspiracy worth more than £15,000 involving at least 50 victims who paid for products that were not delivered.
The men, a 21-year-old from Lichfield, a 23-year-old from Burntwood and an 18-year-old from Heath Hayes, were arrested on Thursday.
They have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The arrests are part of an ongoing Staffordshire Police investigation into fraud carried out on Gumtree since the end of May.
In the past two months 11 other people from Lichfield and one person from Burton have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and have been released on police bail.
