Staffordshire Moorlands' hope for lottery cash

Civic leaders are hoping £900,000 of lottery money will be given to projects aimed at reviving market towns in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The district council is asking the Heritage Lottery Fund for the money to be spent revitalising Cheadle and Leek town centres.

It is hoped derelict buildings, such as Leek's Talbot hotel and Lulworth House in Cheadle, would be brought into use.

The money would also be spent improving Cheadle's market place.
