Weather warning for more snow across Staffordshire

Staffordshire is braced for more snow and freezing weather after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for the West Midlands.

Forecasters said that flurries are expected to hit some parts of the county.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council said its gritting teams would be working all through the night but warned drivers to expect severe winter conditions.

Any school closures will be updated early on Friday.

Bob Brock, the man in charge of gritting at the council, said the majority of the city's roads will be treated.

"All the As, Bs and the Cs [roads] across the city do get gritted.

"When you're looking at the estate roads, there are reasons why you can't do them; one of them is that logistically, we wouldn't have enough vehicles to do them, and most estate roads, these vehicles wouldn't get up them anyway."
