Boy rescued from Stoke-on-Trent derelict property

A 12-year-old boy has been rescued from a derelict property in Stoke-on-Trent.

The child became trapped on the first floor of the property on Goldenhill Road after stairs collapsed.

A friend, also believed to be the same age, called Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, which was alerted at just after 16:00 BST on Thursday.

The trapped boy was rescued by a crew from Longton. Children have been warned derelict buildings are "not playgrounds".
