Six arrested over Stoke-on-Trent fatal stabbing

Six people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called to Wellfield Road, Bentilee, at 00:45 BST following reports a man had been stabbed.

The 29-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent was taken to hospital but died a short time later, police said.

His death is being treated as murder and two men, aged 23 and 24, and four females, aged 16, 20, 21 and 29, have been arrested.

The spokesman said all the arrested people were from the Stoke-on-Trent or North Staffordshire area.

A post-mortem examination has yet to be carried out.
