Revellers going to the V Festival this weekend are being advised by Staffordshire Police to plan their journeys to avoid delays.

The event, now in its 17th year, is on Saturday and Sunday at Weston Park, on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, and Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex.

The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and The Killers are among headline acts.

Paramedics at Weston Park will this year use an all-terrain vehicle to reach anyone needing medical help.

An estimated 85,000 people are expected to attend the event in Staffordshire each day, with people starting to arrive at both sites on Friday.

Delays are expected on roads near Weston Park from Friday evening, including the M54 motorway.
