Derby to Stoke-on-Trent trains restored with delays
Trains are now running again between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent, but commuters can expect delays because of flooding at Uttoxeter, East Midlands Trains has said.
The service was suspended because of the flooding on Monday afternoon.
Trains from Stafford towards Stockport were being diverted via Crewe because of flooding, according to a tweet from National Rail.
The Environment Agency lifted flood warnings for Staffordshire.
Flood alerts were in place for the Rivers Sow, Penk, Churnet and Tean.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service said it had to rescue 20 cows that were "in distress" in floodwater on Fairway in Littleworth, Stafford.
Stafford Borough Council said Doxey long stay car park had flooded and told motorists to move their cars or risk getting them stuck.
Heavy downpours across England have resulted in homes being evacuated, disruption to train services and school closures while many roads have been closed as a result of flooding.
