A burst water main has disrupted supply to 1,000 homes and businesses in Wolverhampton.

Severn Trent Water said the pipe on Cleveland Street burst at about 06:00 GMT, leaving some properties with no supply and others with low pressure.

It said engineers had managed to restore supply to all but one property by bringing water in from another network of pipes.

The area between Bell Street and Garrick Street was flooded.

A spokesman for Severn Trent Water said: "We are now focussing on repairing the burst pipe so that we can restore water supply for the one remaining property."

One lane of Cleveland Street is closed to traffic.
