Man pulled from river in Ipswich dies in hospital

A man has died in hospital two days after he was pulled from a river in Suffolk.

The 56-year-old was spotted in the River Orwell, near Princes Street in Ipswich, by a member of the public at about 1645 BST on Wednesday.

He was taken to Ipswich Hospital and had been in a critical condition since his arrival.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The coroner has been informed.
